Will the World End in 2012? by Raymond E. Hundley, Ph.D.

Will the World End in 2012? is a book that Dr. Hundley wrote, regarding ten of the most prominent apocalyptic theories. He analyzes them and talks about them in such a way that anyone reading the book can understand them. He investigates the claims of scientists, theologians, ancient prophets and others to determine the credibility and probability of each theory.

Many people have seen apocalyptic movies or read books about the end times. The question is really, can this truly happen? Having been around as long as I have, I have heard of most of the theories mentioned in Will the World End in 2012? A couple of them actually had me shaking my head in wonder that anyone would really believe such nonsense. The theories that were more probable are actually quite scary in their own right. Should they occur there isn't much hope for any future.

Now having said that, let me say this, as a Christian, I am not afraid of what may or may not happen. Because I believe that God is in control and knowing that I could be killed in a car accident today as I go to work is one of the many reasons why I trust Him with my life.

Dr. Hundley did a great job in presenting this book to both non-Christians and Christians alike. It is something that anyone can read without being offended. It is a very informative piece of writing that actually should help remove some of the fears that anyone has in regards to future events. He is very clear about credibility and probability of each of the ten major theories including ancient prophetic theories. As far as the date December 21, 2012, he also discusses the likely-hood of things happening on that date. In his conclusion he does give a gospel presentation for those who do not believe in Jesus. He also includes a study guide at the back of the book for personal study time.

On the whole, I would recommend this book to anyone who wants more information regarding these end time theories. Will the World End in 2012? is very helpful in weeding out the probable from the improbable. What he has written makes sense even to someone who doesn't hold a bunch of degrees. And he does provide a way of hope for those who feel there is no hope. And that is important, especially today.

Sleep, It Does A Family Good by Dr. Archibald D. Hart

Sleep, It Does A Family Good by Dr. Archibald D. Hart is a well written book about a subject that is finally getting the recognition it needs.

Dr. Hart Explains the necessity for sleep, for dreams and why a good night's sleep helps improve the mind, body and soul. He gives the reader basically a grocery list of the things that may be impeding their sleep and what to do to change it.

For years we have been hearing that you can get too much sleep, so people have been cutting their sleep time down to four to six hours. Now Dr. Hart has the research to show the importance of getting at least seven to eight hours of sleep a night.

The way Dr. Hart informs the reader of the necessity of proper sleep and how to achieve it, is great. He explains things in such a way that any one reading his book will understand.

His book is full of practical assessment tools to help the reader and family determine their sleep patterns, sleeping disorders, and tips for reducing stress (one of the main reasons for poor sleep).

I found the book very informative, helpful and one the I will read again. It is a very practical book in helping me and my family regain good, healthy sleep, healthy relationships in the family and workplace. If ever someone were to say to me they have problems with sleep this is a book I would most definitely recommend. I think this is something that should be in everyone's bookcase, well-read.

To comply with new regulations introduced by the Federal Trade Commission, Tyndale House Publishers has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book.
